The challenge.
- Designing a data ingestion & processing architecture for large volumes of Power Platform telemetry (apps, flows, usage) using Azure Data Lake, NestJS jobs, and PostgreSQL.
- Early MVP suffered from 30–60+ second load times on key pages like the homepage and risk assessments.
- Needed an API-first, containerized backend that could run in Azure and support both cloud and on-prem setups.
- Faced limitations in Power Platform sync, such as missing ConnectionReference / Connections entities, affecting dependency visibility.

Our approach.
- Built the backend with NestJS and scheduled jobs to perform ETL from Azure Data Lake into PostgreSQL, optimizing queries and indexes for performance.
- Adopted a container-based infrastructure with Azure Container Registry and modular services to support DevOps and scaling.
- Implemented Keycloak-based authentication with OIDC, ensuring secure multi-tenant access control.
- Used Azure AI to generate structured app descriptions, categories, and tags based on components, database references, and flow logic.
